I played BG:DA to death, and recently replayed it in anticipation of this title. While I prefer the D&D universe to that of Everquest, Snowblind has done a fantastic job of improving upon their previous title. Experience and leveling up are now a bit slower in coming, so when it happens, you appreciate it more. Plus, the amount of items is staggering. I also like the fact that the items change every time you visit the shop - too often in BG:DA I had maxed out on gear by the time I was halfway through the level. The choices of what gear to buy and when is now much more strategic (and, at times, agonizing, knowing that the desired item may be gone when you return). The difficulty is nicely handled, the graphics rule, and the story/quests are more engaging in this effort. If you like hack & slash action, and find character development and item "shopping" at all interesting, this can't come more highly recommended.
